As a response, Circular Colorado designed an easy-to-use pilot recycling collection program to collect some of the most commonly recyclable items.<\/p><p>This pilot recycling program allowed Circular Colorado to test how to create a successful, long-term recycling collection program in a multi-family residential building. This pilot helped determine how residents respond to recycling guidelines and what resources are needed to ensure a successful recycling program in a multi-family building.<\/p><p>Residents were asked to sign up to participate in the program and were allowed access to the recycling room through an app on their phone. Plastic beverage bottles, glass beverage bottles, aluminum beverage cans and bottles, food\/beverage cartons, mixed paper, cardboard, and certain electronics were accepted for recycling. Collection containers were set up inside the trash room where residents put commingled recycling into bins and put cardboard separately into cages.
